I've had RA for about 4 years now and am on sulfasalazine. I have had sinusitis for the past 6 weeks and have tried 2 different antibiotics. I have not improved at all, blocked nose, cough, headache and no taste or smell. I can't sleep and am feeling really down. If anyone has experienced sinusitis or has any advice I would be really greatly to hear from you. I'm at the end of my tether!Huh

I've had it before and it's miserable. I remember it causing a dreadful headache and pain in the cheekbones. If I were you I would try some simple things like lots of steamy baths to help break down mucus, chewing gum to help open up all the ENT tubes (menthol or eucaplyptus) and finally chewing raw garlic and eating spoonfuls of honey. The garlic and honey are great for fighting infections. Also plenty of rest as it's hard to fight infections when you're tired. Have you spoken to your rheumie nurse to see if the dmards are stopping you from fighting this? I hope it's better soon. Thinking of you xxx

Hi Seonaid - sorry to hear about your sinusitis - it's miserable when your nose is permanently blocked! I have problems with nasal infections (although mine tends to be the opposite symptom and I have a dry nose) - I was given my nasal antibiotic by my doctor that seems to help a bit

Hope it's better soon - Sylvia xx
Be kinder than is necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle
